3rd Reconnaissance Battalion Marines salute their fallen brothers after a memorial service on Camp Schwab Feb. 3. Both Marines died in combat in Afghanistan last year. Sgt. Daniel D. Gurr passed Aug. 5, 2011. Cpl. Adam J. Buyes passed Nov. 26, just weeks before he was scheduled to return to Okinawa. 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, returned from a seven-month deployment in December 2011.
